More burn for your buck from your candles

I love the aroma scented Candles blanket the room with.  However, those nice candles can get pretty pricey.  Here are some tips on making your candles last longer.

Chilling your candles will make them last longer.  This old-fashion tip is used by frugal seekers and even the candle companies themselves.  Chilling the candles before you use them makes the wax burn at a slower pace and more evenly.  Many say that freezing the candles for 24 hours before lighting and burning them is best.  Others say that just storing them in the refrigerator for at least eight hours before lighting and burning them is more then enough to do the trick.

Another useful tip on extending the life of your candles is to trim the wick before you light it.  Trimming the wick will enable a more even burn on your candle, thus a longer more effective burn.  This method also prevents the candle from smoking and leaving black soot on the glass jar or candle holder.  If the candle’s a smoking, your wick may be too long!

Burning your candles for at least 4 hours at a time will also increase your candle life.  Doing this will allow it to burn more evenly, thus lasting longer.
